Quiet Cabin

Almost four years ago we took a massive unplug vacation. We went to a cabin with no tv, no cell service and no internet.

The cabin did have a cozy kitchen, a wood burning stove and a record player. It also had loads of land to explore and lots of untouched time. That was something we were seriously missing in our every day.

We chopped wood, watched the fire, took hikes and played in the snow. I drew while my husband sharpened his ax. Every night we tried a new wine.

The unplug allowed us a chance to restart. It let us see a little bit clearer what we wanted.

A few months later we moved 600 miles away, in search of a piece of what we found in that cabin.

We’re still on the hunt for our little place, our little quiet retreat- but It all started four years ago.

If you have an opportunity to change everything in your life, take it.

And if you can live a quiet, content life in a cabin one day invite me, please.
